An Augusta drug dealer was seriously injured after running from cops and getting tased, leading him to hit the concrete face-first in a bloody fall.

“I’m only taking care of my family by selling weed,” suspect Christopher Hunter told cops from his hospital bed on Tuesday.

Narcotics officers found 400 grams of marijuana, $20,000 in cash and a gun during a raid at an apartment at 4012 Wheeler Woods Road. A report says Hunter lived there with a woman and children.

Hunter was put in plastic handcuffs next to a car after the raid, but he broke out of them, punched an investigator and ran, according to a sheriff’s report. The investigator chased Hunter and then shot his Taser at the suspect’s back, causing him to fall onto the concrete surface, a report says.

“(Hunter) continued to resist being apprehended until other investigators arrived and assisted him placing him in a pair of regular handcuffs,” the report says. “During the struggle (the investigator) received lacerations on both arms, a swollen cheek and broke his gold bracelet valued at $250.”

The drug suspect received a number of lacerations on his face and body from the impact of hitting the ground. He was taken to University Hospital for treatment, but an EMS first responder said the suspect spit blood and saliva in his face during the ambulance ride, according to a sheriff’s report.

After his release from the hospital Wednesday, Hunter was taken to jail and charged with felony obstruction of an officer, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and weapon possession. According to the jail website, he is currently free on bond.

Tyler Wicks suicide by copAn Augusta man was shot dead by a Richmond County deputy late Monday after he refused to drop his assault rifle, authorities said.

Deputies were called to Blueberry Circle for a subject with a gun, where  30-year-old Tyler James Wicks was threatening to shoot any law enforcement officer that came to his home.

“Upon arrival deputies encountered the subject inside the residence with an assault rifle in his possession,” said GBI agent Patrick Morgan in a press release. “Deputies gave several commands for the subject to drop the rifle but he refused.”

One of the responding deputies shot Wicks and the man died later as GRU Hospital. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday morning at the GBI Crime Lab in Decatur, Georgia.

The case is currently being investigated by the GBI and upon completion will be turned over to the Augusta Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for review.

Wicks is the same man who refused to drop a handgun last August when authorities went to his home for a domestic dispute with his ex-wife. Deputies pointed their guns at Wick in that case, and the suspect yelled at officers to shoot him, according to a sheriff’s report. Instead, they tasered him on two parts of his body, and his gun fell to the grass and he was arrested.

Wicks spent there months in jail last year waiting trial on an aggravated assault charge in that case. He was eventually sentenced to time served as well as probation in December on a “reckless conduct” conviction. As part of a probation, Wicks was ordered to undergo drug counseling and to take a firearms safety class.

Christopher PriceA military man was furious Saturday when cops didn’t give a citation to the owner of a Lamborghini who parked illegally in the handicapped spot at the Evans I-HOP restaurant.

“He’s disrespecting war veteran amputees!” the Augusta man yelled at deputies.

But the only person who got in trouble was Christopher Franklyn Price for public drunkenness, and he ended up in the Columbia County Jail.

For more crime news, pick up this week’s Jail Report from stores today. Cover image: http://bit.ly/1RwhSua)

Price, a 30-year-old man who works on Fort Gordon for the U.S. Navy as a intelligence analyst, was intoxicated at 3 a.m. Saturday when he went to the Evans I-HOP. That’s when a deputy gave the owner of a Lamborghini Huracán a warning about parking in the handicapped section without a permit.

The deputy left but had to return to complaints that Price was harassing the car’s occupants. The deputy found Price circling the expensive car and yelling at the people inside.

Price reeked of alcohol and was slurring his words, a report says. A deputy told him to calm down and even offered to drive him home, but he screamed, “They need to be written a f***ing ticket!”

At this point, two deputies tried to calm him down but Price yelled that the Lamborghini driver was “disrespecting war veteran amputees and should be given a ticket.”

Price refused to leave or be escorted home – and he demanded to be taken to jail. “He emptied the contents of his pockets on the ground of the parking lot and refused to pick them up,” a deputy said in his report.

He was then arrested.

BJ in the Liquor StoreA local man and woman were charged with public indecency Wednesday night after the woman was caught giving the man oral sex in the aisle of an Evans liquor store.

Kevin Marshall, 19, of Martinez, and Antoinette Anquiz, 23, of Clarks Hill, SC, were caught on camera about 7 p.m. Wednesday inside the Spirits Liquor Store on 4435 Washington Road in Evans, according to a sheriff’s report.

Witnesses waved down a Columbia County deputy and told them the suspects were inside the store and had been seen committing the sex act in public.

” The act occurred in the public space of one of the store’s aisles,” the report says. “The act was captured by security cameras.”

Store owner Justin Rushin and Manager Pamela David witnessed the act on security camera. The owner confronted the man and woman and told them to leave, but that led to an argument. The fight led outside, where the deputy was flagged down.

The deputy reviewed the video and saw Anquiz preform oral sex on Marshall. The woman admitted to committing the sex act and both were arrested.

Peter McNallyCharges of DUI and homicide by vehicle have been filed against an Augusta man who crashed into a motorcycle and killed a man and injured a passenger, authorities said.

Peter McNally, 30, of Alexander Drive, was blamed for Wednesday night’s fatal wreck at Washington Road and Alexander Drive that killed 51-year-old Ronald Lovett.

Authorities say McNally’s 2006 Nissan Maxima was traveling east on Washington Road in the left turn lane at its intersection with Alexander Drive. Also, a 1998 Suzuki GSX 600F (driven by Lovett) was traveling west on Washington Road approaching the intersection of Alexander Drive.

The traffic signal had just turned yellow as McNally was attempting to turn left onto Alexander Drive directly in front of the motorcycle as Lovett was proceeding through the intersection of Washington Road and Alexander Drive. The front of the Nissan Maxima struck the front of the Suzuki GSX 600F. As a result of the impact, Lovett and a female passenger of the Suzuki GSX 600F were ejected from the Suzuki GSX 600F.

Gold Cross arrived on the scene and transported both Lovett and the female passenger to Georgia Regents University where Lovett succumbed to his injuries. Georgia Regents University is listing the female passenger in serious condition.

McNally has been arrested and charged with the following, DUI, homicide by motor vehicle, serious injury by motor vehicle and failure to yield while turning left.

Black Church Burns in Warrenville; FBI, SLED to Help Investigation

unnamed-17A predominantly black church in Warrenville was damaged by fire overnight and the FBI and SLED are helping Aiken County authorities investigate the cause.

A fully-engulfed fire at Glover Grove Baptist Church was reported by a 911 caller at 3:26 am. Friday, and crews from the Langley and Midland Valley fire departments rushed to put it out. No one was injured.

The fire was extinguished around 4:36 am. Friday, Aiken County sheriff’s Capt. Eric Abdullah said.  Forensic investigators were called in to assist in determining the origin and cause of the fire at the church, located at 331 Project Road in Warrenville.

Forensic investigators are being assisted by SLED and the FBI.  Capt. Abdullah said it’s too early to say if this was arson. “Our focus on the investigation is trying to determine the cause,” he said.

Church officials say the building has been destroyed. And at least one church member tells The Jail Report that they are wondering whether the fire has anything to do with arsons being reported this week at black churches in the South.

The Glover Grove fire comes just days after reports of arson at black churches in Georgia and North Carolina.  In Macon, Ga., God’s Power Church of Christ was burned beyond repair Wednesday. The Bureau of Alcohol, Firearms, and Tobacco got called in, which has been the standard procedure for church fires since the late 1960s.

The same day, a fire was set at Briar Creek Road Baptist Church in Charlotte, where investigators have ruled it an act of arson.

The fires come just a week after nine people were killed at Charleston’s Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church, another act of violence perpetrated against predominantly black churches.

Delores Lawrence chld cruelty  An Augusta woman has been charged with first-degree child cruelty after shaking a baby, causing the 6-month-old boy severe head trauma and bleeding to the brain, authorities said.

(For more crime news, pick up this week’s Jail Report. Cover: http://bit.ly/1gbUyGP)

Delores Douglas Lawrence, 45, of Deen Avenue, was arrested last Thursday in connection with the injuries to the child, who she was watching for a few days, according to a sheriff’s report.

Lawrence had the child from June 22-24. Last Wednesday, when she brought the child back to his father Marcquise Heggs on Neptune Drive, the child appeared hurt.

Heggs said his son looked hurt and he asked Lawrence about him. “Nothing,” Lawrence reportedly said. “He is sleeping hard on one side.”

Heggs then told someone to call an ambulance, and the child was rushed to GRU Hospital. Lawrence left the residence before the ambulance arrived. GRU staff told investigators that the child appeared to be the victim of abuse and had bleeding on the brain.

Heggs said he and the child’s mother, Jaquita Washington, had been together ever since the child was left with Douglas.

A warrant identified the child as Marquayvion Washington and said the suspect shook the baby “causing severe head trauma and bleeding to occur on his brain.”

Lawrence remained in the Richmond County Jail on Wednesday without bond.

(Note: The Jail Report has sought for three days to get the relationship of the suspect to the child in this case and the condition of the child. We contacted the sheriff’s Public Information Office, but sheriff’s Sgt. Michael Shane McDaniel Sr. said he was unable to get CID investigators to give him that information.)

RCSO Cracks Down on Drunk Drivers Over Holiday

$

Press release from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office:

crackdown“The Fourth of July is one of America’s favorite holidays. Families and friends gather to celebrate our country with food, parades, parties, picnics and fireworks.

And yet there is a very dark side to this great holiday. For many, the celebration includes alcohol, but the holiday quickly goes from festive to fatal when people choose to drive after drinking. From 2009-2014, nearly 40 percent of ALL traffic fatalities over the Fourth of July period occurred in alcohol-impaired-driving crashes. In 2013, Forbes magazine named the Independence Day holiday “the most dangerous holiday of the year.”

Over the Fourth of July holiday period in 2013 alone (6 p.m. July 3rd to 5:59 a.m. July 8th), there were 199 people killed in alcohol-impaired-driving crashes on our nation’s roads.

To crack down on drunk driving this Fourth of July, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, Georgia State Patrol and the Department of Natural Resources will be out in full force, aggressively targeting those who put lives in danger.

Richmond County is ramping up their enforcement to make our roads safer this Fourth of July,” said Lieutenant Ramone Lamkin of the Traffic Safety Division. “For everyone’s sake, please don’t drink and drive or you will be arrested. The ‘Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over’ campaign means zero tolerance for drunk driving—no excuses.”

Data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration shows that 10,076 people were killed in drunk-driving crashes in the United States in 2013—representing almost a third of all crash fatalities. By comparison, during the July Fourth period that year, 39 percent of all crash fatalities involved alcohol-impaired drivers.

In Georgia, it is illegal to drive with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of .08 grams per deciliter or higher, yet people continue to break the law and drive drunk and the rate of high-BAC impaired driving is astounding. In fatal crashes during the July Fourth period in 2013, more than one-fifth (21%) of involved drivers or motorcycle operators had BACs of .15 or higher—almost twice the legal limit. For those under 21 years of age, you can be arrested for DUI with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of .02 grams per deciliter.

NHTSA data also reveals that 35 percent of young drivers (18 to 34 years old) were driving drunk (BAC of .08 or higher) in fatal crashes over the July Fourth period in 2013. Motorcycle operators are also overrepresented as the highest percentage of alcohol-impaired drivers in fatal crashes. In 2013, more than one-quarter (27%) of motorcycle operators in fatal crashes had BACs of .08 or higher.

Drunk drivers are more common at night, too. Over the July 4th holiday in 2013, more than two fifths (42%) of the drivers in nighttime fatal crashes (6 p.m. to 5:59 a.m.) were alcohol-impaired, as compared to 13 percent of drivers in fatal crashes during the day.

“This Fourth of July holiday, you can show your patriotism by helping to make Richmond County roads and waterways safer for everyone,” said RCSO Lt. Lewis Blanchard. “Remember, you have been pre-warned, “to Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over. It’s as simple as that.” “We will be working in conjunction with DNR and GSP to ensure our roads and waterways are as safe as possible for all motorist and boaters. We will have extra Deputies on hand patrolling the roadways and the waterways during the holiday period.”

Law enforcement is not messing around this Independence Day: if you’re caught driving drunk, you will be arrested. And keep in mind that aside from putting your life and the lives of others at risk, driving impaired can also lead to serious consequences. A DUI arrest can mean time in jail, loss of your license, and steep financial expenses; the average DUI costs about $8,000.

Lieutenant Blanchard recommends these simple tips to prevent drunk driving.

  • Plan a safe way home before the fun begins.
  • Before drinking, designate a sober driver.
  • If you’re impaired, use a taxi, call a sober friend or family member, or use public transportation.
  • If you happen to see a drunk driver on the road, don’t hesitate to contact 911 or 706-821-1080.
  • If you know someone who is about to drive or ride while impaired, take your friend’s keys and help your friend make other arrangements to get to where he or she is going safely.

Williams, Mary InezAn Aiken woman slapped a 5-year-old girl in the face outside an Augusta home Saturday and told deputies that the girl had done the same to her daughter.

“Nobody is going hit my child, not even a 5 year old,” suspect Mary Williams reportedly said.

Williams, 20, was charged with simple battery as well as obstruction for running from Richmond County deputies when they were responded to the Jennings Place community.

On the Fourth of July, Richmond County cops were called to 1823 Cooney Circle about a fight in the street. The victim’s mother, Lanelle Calloway, said the suspect had slapped her 5-year-old caught on the left side of the face. A deputy observed redness and swelling on the girl’s face, a report says.

The deputy then saw Williams running away from the area and chased her to the rear of the complex towards Wooten Road. Two deputies caught her and asked her why she she ran. “I didn’t want to go to jail,” she said.

Williams then confessed to hitting the girl. “She slapped my child, so I slapped her,” the young mother reportedly said.

The suspect argued that she had warned the girl to stop flicking her daughter on the belly, but the girl did not stop so she hit her.

The victim’s mother told authorities she didn’t even know the suspect and was sitting on a porch on Cooney Circle and saw Williams slap her daughter. Paramedics were called to check out the girl and Williams was arrested.

West killingMurder charges were filed Wednesday against a Grovetown man in the bizarre butcher-knife stabbing of his wife on June 14, authorities said.

“Philip West was released from GRU this afternoon and transported to the Columbia County Detention Center where he has been charged with murder,” sheriff’s Capt. Steve Morris said in a press release.

(For more crime news, pick up this week’s edition of The Jail Report, in stores now. Cover: http://bit.ly/1S8Q4MM)

West, a Columbia County Water Works employee, allegedly stabbed his wife to death on the evening of Sunday, June 14. Capt. Morris said the stabbing followed an argument between the couple.

The dramatic death followed a 911 call from 2006 Shoreline Drive in which wife Sherri West could be heard screaming in the background. When the call got disconnected and the 911 operator called the number back, a male answered and said he would open the door for deputies and that everything was fine.

But in less than three minutes, deputies arrived and Phillip West answered the door with a large butcher knife embedded in his chest and numerous lacerations on his arms and wrists. Sherri West, 47 was found on the kitchen floor, unresponsive with a stab wound to the chest. She later died.

The husband had been hospitalized since the event and was interviewed several times. Capt. Morris said the evidence shows this was a murder and suicide attempt.

West is being held without bond.

Aiken Man Who Slapped Baby is Arrested Again for Naked Beating of 12-Year-Old Boy

Travis WhittenAn Aiken man punished his girlfriend’s 12-year-old cousin by making him strip naked prior to a violent beating, authorities said.

Suspect Travis Whitten is the same man who slapped a baby girl in 2007 and left a bruise on her face, according to jail records. The victim in that case was 3 months old.

This time, the 27-year-old suspect is accused of brutally attacking the 12-year-old boy who was living in the Aiken home under the legal guardianship of Whitten’s girlfriend. The incident occurred Feb. 13, but Whitten evaded arrest until this week.

A child cruelty warrant accuses him or torturing the victim and causing “unnecessary pain and suffering.”

According to a sheriff’s report, Whitten was upset that the child got kicked off the bus. At home on Friday the 13th, Whitten ordered the boy to “get in the tub butt naked so he can beat his ass.”

Whitten then beat the child against a wall, shoved him against the bed, ordered him to put his clothes back on and then continued the attack. “When the victim got his clothes on, Travis called him a baby, punched the victim and stepped on his head,” a report says.

Whitten kept punching the boy until he noticed the child’s mother pulling up in the driveway for a visit. That’s when he ordered the boy to act like everything was fine and tell her nothing.

According to the report, DSS had given custody of the boy and his sister to their cousin, who was dating Whitten. She was not at home at the time.

The beating was never revealed until a DSS worker was talking to the child at Ridge Spring-Monetta Middle School on another matter. He told the case worker that he had suffered several bruises on his butt from Whitten’s punishments. He said his butt felt like “a little bit of peanut butter with a lot of jelly in it,” the sheriff’s report says.

Asked about her knowledge of the beatings, the boy’s mother told investigators that she knew the children got whippings but didn’t know how bad they were.

The two children were both removed from the home after the beating revelation. A warrant was issued in February for Whitten, but sheriff’s Capt. Eric Abdullah said they weren’t able to find him. Whitten surrendered earlier this week, he said.

Authorities say the child cruelty charge is just a misdemeanor, like the 2007 charge. In the first arrest eight years ago, Whitten was found guilty of child cruelty and ordered to spend 30 days in jail or pay a $450 fine.

SurveillanceTwo people were captured Saturday in the theft of a woman’s purse from the McDonalds on Peach Orchard Road in Augusta.

Shirley Elaine Tindell, 59, and Michael Ray Honer, 59, both of Redd Drive, Augusta, were both charged with theft by taking.

The 65-year-old victim was enjoying breakfast with friends Friday and set her purse down on a counter. When she got up, it was gone.

Deputies asked the restaurant to review video, which showed a woman pick up the purse and hide it, then walk to a drink machine before heading outside to a Dodge pick-up truck with a wheel chair attached to the back. She was reportedly with a man who used a cane.

The images of the suspects were released to local media Friday and the couple were identified and arrested within a day.

Family members of the victim tell us the purse was recovered, but it was missing the $545 cash inside and the credit cards.

The victim’s son sent us this message:

“My mother is disabled and only gets a very small amount of money to pay her bills every month. That morning on the way to her Friday morning church group meeting at McDonald’s she cashed her check and planned on paying her bills after so she had over $500 cash in her purse at the time they took it. When they were arrested and ask about the purse and the money they said that they drove to SC and threw my mothers purse out to get rid of it and said that they paid their bills with my mothers bill money. This makes me very sad and very angry. My mom also had credit cards that have not been found yet.

“Please pray for my mother because it took a little while but the stress from all of this is finally catching up to her now and she’s not in the best of health. My mother is a very kind and big hearted person. The thing is she would have probably given them the money if they ask and done without like she has always done. Good people always get done wrong. Thanks again for all the help catching these criminals.

“HUGE THANKS TO RICHMOND COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT, THE NEWS TEAMS AND EVERYONE ON SOCIAL MEDIA THAT HELPED CATCH MY MOMS PURSE THIEVES!! Special thanks to deputy Langford for making the stop and Brian Gross for treating my mother and myself with so much kindness and for treating our case no different than a bank robbery. Mr Gross and investigator Fanning stayed in contact with us the entire time. As a team all of Augusta pulled together and we found them in less then 48 hours. Great job and huge thanks from my family to yours!”

Aaron HeffnerA North Augusta man was arrested Friday after government officials traced a photo of child pornography to his computer, according to a sheriff’s report.

Aaron Jacob Heffner, 38, of Big Cone Drive, North Augusta, was charged with sexual exploitation of a minor in the third degree.

Last October, the state Attorney General’s Office got a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that an image was uploaded to a Microsoft Skydive account. The image turned out to be child porn, according to a sheriff’s report.

A state investigator got account information and found it belonged to Heffner. An investigation led to a warrant and Heffner’s arrest.

Heffner is the same man arrested by Richmond County authorities in 2011 for stealing 20 operating system CDs from University Hospital while working as a computer technician there. He sold them on eBay. In that case, he got probation and fines.

Report: Wanted Man Attacks Again & Rapes Ex While Recording It on Cell Phone

An Augusta man with an outstanding warrant for attacking his ex-girlfriend was never served the warrant before he allegedly broke into her house and again assaulted her, this time raping her while recording it on his cell phone, according to a sheriff’s report.

(This is one of several stories in this week’s Jail Report, sold in stores. Cover: http://bit.ly/1MtCYrS)

DAVIS CHRISTOPHER mugChristopher Rogers Davis, 46, has been charged only with simple battery as authorities investigate the rape accusations. He is being held without bond.

The victim told authorities that she and Davis agreed to separate in June and Davis asked to take a picture of her June 20 to “remember her.” When she said no, he allegedly punched her and then pointed a gun at her and pulled the trigger. It didn’t fire and Davis apologized. He stayed at her home and she called police June 21 when he left.

Last Friday – three weeks later – the warrant had not been served. That’s when the victim says Davis got into her home with an old key and attacked her in an apparent jealous rage about her new “boo.” After she refused to pull up her Facebook page for him to see, he ripped off her shirt, slapped her, choked her and held a knife to her neck, a sheriff’s report says.

The victim said Davis grabbed a pair of scissors and “threatened to cut her lips off.” The woman said Davis performed oral sex on her and later raped her while recording it on his cell phone.

Davis then intersected her to shower while he wiped the home clean and even put the bed sheets in the washer. When he finally left, she used a tablet to Facebook message a friend to help her. The friend took her to Doctors Hospital, where a rape kit was done and investigators interviewed her.

According to a report, officers met the woman and observed her injuries: “Blackened right eye, small cut on the inside of the left nostril, small cut to the inside the bottom lip, swelling to both sides of the face, abrasions and cuts to both sides of the neck, severe bruising and abrasions on the left side of the body in the rib cage area, a large bruise on center left of the stomach, small scratches and bruises to both arms and shoulders, large bruise on the heel of the right hand, abrasions and bruising to both legs, large and severe bruising to the lower back and buttocks.”

Davis was arrested Saturday on Peach Orchard Road for the previous simple battery case, according to sheriff’s Sgt. Glen Rahn.

“Violent Crimes is currently investigating the second incident that occurred on July 10th, 2015. In both crimes, it was the same victim,” the sergeant said.

A man claiming to be “Jesus Christ” stole a shiny-new Mustang from Fairway Ford in Evans this week.

Eric Martin Jesus Christ Car ThiefThe man – identified NOT as the Son of God, but as Eric Gene Martin of Augusta – led officers on a sinful chase through Augusta that didn’t end peacefully, authorities said.

It all started Monday morning when the 41-year-old man came into the Washington Road dealership and “introduced himself to the salesperson as Jesus Christ,” according to sheriff’s Capt. Steve Morris.

The suspect – wearing blue jeans, a striped polo and a “do-rag” – convinced the sales lady to take him on a test drive of a 2015 Mustang. Back at the dealership, he asked for a “complimentary drink” and then grabbed the car keys off the employee’s desk when she walked away to get the beverage, according to a sheriff’s report.

When the salesperson returned, she looked outside and saw Martin getting into the red Mustang and driving off eastbound on Washington Road.

Richmond County deputies caught the suspect at Fox Trace Drive around 2:15 p.m., but he sped off and led them on a chase in heavy traffic on Wrightsboro Road. He eventually stopped at a red light and was surrounded by deputies. When Martin wouldn’t obey their commands to get out, an officer shattered the Mustang’s window with his baton and pulled the man out in a tense struggle, according to a sheriff’s report.

The false prophet, who was found with marijuana in his pocket, was charged with fleeing police, obstruction, marijuana possession and a state court bench warrant. He is being held in Richmond County and faces additional theft charges in Columbia County.

And it turns out, Martin is far from being the Prince of Peace. According to jail records, he is convicted felon with a history of drug offenses, shoplifting arrests and traffic charges.

An elderly Army veteran was caught with his pants down Saturday performing oral sex on a naked 14-year-old girl in a vacant lot in Hephzibah, authorities said.

IMG_2048Wearing only underwear and black loafers, suspect Ervin Ray Turner begged the deputy to give him a break after serving in the military for 30 years.

“Come on man, we didn’t have sex, I only kissed it a little,” Turner said.

Turner, 82, of Oak Ridge Drive, Augusta, was arrested for aggravated child molestation. He is being held without bond at the Richmond County Jail.

Investigators first believed the girl might have been a granddaughter but a spokesman said Sunday that the suspect and victim were not related. Sheriff’s Sgt. Glen Rahn said he did not have more information on their relationship.

A woman who lives along Lace Road called the cops at 2:30 p.m. Saturday when she saw a suspicious truck in the vacant lot (pictured here). A responding deputy found a white 1994 Ford 150XLT truck in a thick wooded area on the property. He caught the suspect performing oral sex on the nude girl in the truck.

From the officer’s report: “As I reached Mr. Turner’s side he raised his head up a little and smiled at (the victim) before looking at me and continuing to smile. I told them both to stop and get dressed.”

The officer quickly realized the girl was young and took Turner into custody, detaining him in the patrol vehicle.

The officer said, “When I was taking Mr. Turner into custody he told me that he did 30 years in the Army and asked if I could give him a break. I told him that he would not get a break for this.”

A sheriff’s investigator contacted the girl’s mother, a report says.

The woman who lives on the street said her family has seen the same vehicle in the vacant lot four or five other times. It made the dogs bark. She told The Jail Report that she thought the people might have been making meth.

When she learned the young girl was being abused, she cried all day Saturday and asked her Facebook friends to pray for the girl.

“Sad situation, but hopefully this little girl is now free of this awful situation,” the woman said.
