Two local teens were locked up Friday for robbing a victim who was trying to sell them clothes and shoes.
Instead, John Anthony Turner, 17, and Kam’Ron Williamson, 18, pulled an AR-15 and another gun on the teenage victim on Feb. 22 and demanded the items, according to authorities. The items were described as various Spider-brand clothing and a pair of green shoes, with a total value of $675.
The victim told authorities that he met up with the suspects on Feb. 22 at a cul-de-sac on Sand Stone Lane in Hephzibah to sell the items. The victim told the suspects that he had not received payment through CashApp, and he requested they pay in cash.
Suddenly, Turner brandished an AR-15-style firearm while the older teen pulled a handgun and picked up items from the ground. The victim tried to stop them, so they raised their firearms higher before fleeing on foot.
Turner and Williamson were both charged Friday with armed robbery and held without bond at the Charles B. Webster Detention Center.
