
The identities of two drivers killed in a Thanksgiving Day crash on Windsor Spring Road have been released.
Nichlos “Nick” Warren, 76, and Kourtney Cain, 34, both from Hephzibah, died in a multi-car collision Thursday afternoon near the intersection of Windsor Spring Road and Willis Foreman Road. Warren was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 4:08 p.m. Thursday, according to Coroner Mark Bowen.
Cain, the second driver involved, was transported to Wellstar/MGC Health Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 6:04 p.m. the same day.
On Saturday, Cain’s family held a balloon release at a Walmart on Windsor Spring Road, close to the crash site, to honor her memory. Family friends expressed their grief online, with one promising to “shower your girls with love.” Laura Green wrote, “Your smile and energy was unmatched. Always positive and always encouraging!”
Nick Warren’s family also mourned his loss, with Brenda Parris sharing memories of their long friendship. “This is heartbreaking news! I can’t help but think back on the first morning I picked him up to attend Sunday School and he has been coming ever since!” she wrote.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation, and authorities have not released further details.
