State agents have arrested a Beech Island woman for stealing lottery tickets from one store and cashing the winners for $94 at another store.

Angel Nicole Huitt, 37, was charged this month by SLED with intent to defraud and counterfeit game tickets. She’s a repeat offender with a long record of theft and meth charges.

Huitt is accused of committing the offenses last February at a Circle K on Old 96 Indian Trail in Batesburg, in Aiken County. Huitt allegedly passed 23 scratch-off lottery tickets that were stolen earlier the same day from Save and Shop on Atomic Road in North Augusta.

Surveillance video from both locations captured Huitt’s actions, including the theft and redemption of the stolen tickets. She was identified through jail booking records and video footage, according  to a SLED press release.

The case will be prosecuted by the 2nd Circuit Solicitor’s Office. Huitt was booked July 16 at the Aiken County Detention Center. She has been released on bond.

Huitt has been charged multiple times in Richmond and Aiken counties: Burglary in 2017, meth possession in 2020, shoplifting in 2021, simple larceny in 2022 and meth possession again in 2023. She also has previous warrants for order to show cause, which means she didn’t fulfill terms of her sentences in some cases.
