The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office has issued an alert for a missing 10-year-old boy, Ezekiel Bernard Reed, who was last seen on June 1 on the 1200 block of Kinger Court in Augusta.
Ezekiel, described as 4 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 70 pounds, is believed to be in the company of his biological mother, Taylor Reed, heading towards Cincinnati, Ohio.
According to an incident report filed by Deputy D. Whelchel, Ezekiel’s father, Paul Cohen, reported his son missing after returning home from work to find both Ezekiel and his older brother, 13-year-old Samar Boyd, gone from their residence. Cohen, who has full custody of both children according to court documents, explained that the boys’ mothers, Taylor Reed and Jera Boyd, took them without his consent.
The incident unfolded when Cohen left for work early in the morning and returned later in the afternoon to discover the children missing. His attempts to contact Taylor Reed and Jera Boyd proved unfruitful as they allegedly refused to disclose their location, mentioning only that they were en route to Ohio for court proceedings.
Cohen, who provided paperwork from a previous custody ruling in Hamilton County, Ohio, expressed frustration at the lack of cooperation from the mothers and the difficulty in locating detailed custody documents amidst a move. He indicated that Samar Boyd had a cell phone, but efforts to track it via GPS were unsuccessful.
The authorities are urging anyone with information on Ezekiel Reed’s whereabouts to contact the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office at 706-821-1020 or 706-821-1080.
