The Grovetown Police Department has arrested a local couple following an investigation into child sexual abuse involving their own children.
An investigation began after the Grovetown Police Department received a Cybertip originating from the online chat platform “MeetMe.” The tip provided information that a person in Grovetown was trying to solicit males in the area to have sex with their two-year-old daughter, according to Chief Jamey Kitchens of the Grovetown Police Department.
The investigation revealed that Ashlee Crawley, 26, had been creating sexually explicit “content” and selling it on various online apps. Some of this content was created with her children being deliberately present in the videos for extra money, the chief said in a press release. The youngest of these children is 2 years old.
The children’s father, James Tripp, 29, was making plans and seeking permission from Crawley to engage in intercourse with his own 2-year-old biological daughter, Chief Kitchens said.
The children were removed from the home and turned over to the care of the Division of Family and Children Services.
Crawley is charged with two counts of child molestation and one count of computer or electronic pornography and violation Child Exploitation and Prevention Act of 2007. Tripp is charged with criminal attempted incest and criminal attempted child molestation.
“This investigation continues and further charges are expected,” Chief Kitchens said. “The Grovetown Police Department remains committed to identifying and arresting those in our community that prey on our children.”
