Four more arrests were made Friday in the shooting death of off-duty Deputy Gregory Cooke in Augusta.
- Neqwaun O’Neal Roberson, 18, (top left photo) is being sought for hindering the apprehension of a criminal. If anyone has information regarding Roberson’s whereabouts please contact the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office at 706-821-1080.
- Demerius Taquon Hunter, 17 (top right), was charged with hindering the apprehension of a criminal
- Nikeyla Reeves, 17 (bottom left), was charged with hindering the apprehension of a criminal
“Throughout the investigation it was learned that Roberson, Reeves and Hunter assisted Donelle Osborne, Jr and Na’eem Caldwell flee the area after shooting” Cooke, a GBI press release says.
- On Friday, at about 11 a.m., Stevie Dustin Caldwell, 46 years old (bottom right), was arrested and charged with tampering with evidence and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He is reportedly the father of Naeem Caldwell.
The GBI has made it clear that Cooke was not acting as a law enforcement officer at the time of the shooting.
“Cooke had a verbal altercation with an individual, at which time, Cooke was shot,” the GBI press release says.
Cooke was transported to the Augusta University Medical Center in Augusta, where he later died during surgery Thursday.
