Aiken County authorities found the body of a man in the back of a pickup truck overnight Wednesday, according to a press release.
At 2:05 a.m. Wednesday, deputies were asked to go to the 100 block of Rushton Road in Aiken for a suspicious vehicle.
“Deputies located a Dodge pickup truck with an unidentified deceased Black male victim in the back,” sheriff’s Sgt. Stephen Shunn said in a press release. “Investigators and Aiken County Coroner’s office responded to Rushton Road where their preliminary findings have determined it to be suspicious in nature.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office at 803-648-6811. Individuals may also call Crime stoppers of the Midlands: 888-CRIME-SC (888-274-6372). Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward up to $1000.
