A North Augusta man was charged Tuesday with distributing child pornography, authorities said.
Derrick Jonathon Donchez, 33, is facing 12 charges connected to sexual exploitation of minors. The Aiken County Sheriff’s Department, a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, made the arrest. The Aiken Department of Public Safety, also a member of the ICAC Task Force, assisted in the arrest.

Investigators state that Donchez was involved in distributing child pornography via a file-sharing network. Specific charges:
- 3 counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, Second Degree (§16-15-405), a felony offense punishable by up to 10 years imprisonment on each count
- 9 counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, Third Degree (§16-15-410), a felony offense punishable by up to ten (10) years imprisonment on each count.
The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office.
Attorney General Wilson stressed all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they are proven guilty in a court of law.
