A 25-year-old Augusta man remained in jail Thursday on child molestation charges after he allegedly had sex with a 15-year-old girl and got her pregnant, authorities said.

Jonathan Campbell, 25, of the 3500 block of Ira Road, was charged with felony child molestation – non aggravated.
A warrant says Campbell had sex with the juvenile in March 2015 “with the intent to satisfy his sexual desires … resulting in the victim giving birth to a child.”
The warrant indicates the girl is related to Campbell by marriage, not biologically. Once the girl gave birth, an investigation led to a warrant against Campbell.
He was arrested Saturday and booked into the Richmond County Detention Center on the molestation charge.
Campbell’s Facebook page indicates he has been stressed over the last few months.
“Love my kids and love my life but I don’t think I’ll ever get to enjoy it,” he wrote in a February post.
