A former Regions Bank employee has been arrested for stealing money from a customer’s account, according to Aiken public safety officials.
Carrie Butler Caldwell, 38, of Aiken, was charged with two counts of financial identity fraud.
On March 30, Regions Bank investigators notified police of a possible fraud involving a former bank employee.
“During the course of the investigation it was determined Mrs. Caldwell converted the victim’s funds to her personal use,” a press release says. “Mrs. Caldwell completed these transactions while she was employed at Regions Bank.”
This investigation is in early stages and is continuing with the assistance of Regions Bank Fraud Investigators, the release said.
