Richmond County Sheriff Richard Roundtree has suspended Chief Deputy Pat Clayton for two days without pay.
The sheriff confirmed the suspension to The Jail Report, but he said the reasons for the suspension would have to come through an Open Records Request since he is treating it like he would any other deputy.
“Something happened awhile ago,” Sheriff Roundtree said. “He was written up and given two days suspension, so he took them today and tomorrow.”
WGAC’s Austin Rhodes is reporting that the suspension involves an accident with Chief Deputy Clayton’s work vehicle. The Jail Report has sent a request for information to the agency’s Public Information Office.
