The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is offering a reward of up to $150,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the two suspects who robbed an Augusta postal carrier on Wednesday.
The 24-year-old postal carrier was passing out mail around 4:55 p.m. Wednesday at 3461 Jonathan Circle when the robbery occurred, authorities said.
“He was stopped passing out mail when a black male wearing all black and a face mask ran up and grabbed his right arm and held it in place,” a sheriff’s report says. “Another black male wearing gray hoodie pushed a pistol into his chest.”
The robbers then took two items from him and ran off toward Marvin Griffin Road. Descriptions of the two items that were stolen are redacted in the sheriff’s report.
