An Augusta father’s definition of discipline was police’s definition of a felony.
Charles Collier III, 37, is accused of repeatedly punching his 16-year-old son in the face Monday afternoon at a residence on Bungalow Road. Authorities say the father claimed to be disciplining the teen when they got into an altercation and Collier assaulted him.
The son ended up at Wellstar MCH Health with a broken nose and multiple contusions on his face. He was listed in stable condition.
A wanted flyer was distributed for Collier on Monday for aggravated battery and cruelty to children in the first degree. He was arrested Tuesday on those two charges.
An outstanding warrant for child support was also issued on Collier, and he remained locked up under no bond at the Charles B. Webster Detention Center.
