A Hephzibah woman was charged Sunday in a weekend shooting on Carroll Drive that killed a man and injured a woman, according to authorities.
Constance Jenkins, 38, was charged Sunday with murder, aggravated assault and weapon possession. The shooting took place just after 11 p.m. Saturday, killing 37-year-old Eric Council and injuring a woman, whose name was not released.
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office and the Hephzibah Police Department responded to the shooting on the 2400 block of Carroll Drive, a dead-end street off Windsor Spring Road.
Council was rushed by paramedics to Wellstar MCG Health, where he was pronounced dead at 11:44 p.m. Saturday, according to Coroner Mark Bowen.
The female victim’s condition has not been disclosed. The relationship of Jenkins to the victim is unclear.
Jenkins is being held without bond at the Charles B. Webster Detention Center.
