A suspect in the Christmas Eve killing of an Aiken man was captured Thursday morning in Florence County, authorities said.
Tony Muldrow, 34, of Effingham, is being held pending charges of manslaughter and weapon possession in the death of 29-year-old Rondre J. Gomillion. Muldrow is being held in the Florence County Jail pending extradition to Aiken County.
Gomillion was fatally shot around 11 a.m. Sunday at 161 Squire St. in Aiken, Coroner Darryl Ables said. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
The victim was found in the front yard on Squire Street and appeared to have an apparent gunshot wound to his chest.
“A witness told deputies that the victim and the gunman got into an argument outside the home when shots rang out,” sheriff’s Capt. Eric Abdullah said. “The gunman drove away in a dark blue Chevy Suburban or Trailblazer.”
